Deputy Secretary-General of NESDC Welcomes Representatives from the U.S. Embassy and USTDA

On January 29, 2024, Mr. Wiroj Naraarak, Deputy Secretary-General of NESDC, welcomed representatives from the U.S. Embassy in Thailand and representatives from the U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) for discussions and exchange of views on economic cooperation and infrastructure development between the two countries.

On this occasion, the U.S. Embassy representatives emphasized the importance of economic cooperation between Thailand and the United States, and expressed commitment to promoting the expansion of Thai-U.S. trade and supporting Thailand’s economic development, including appreciation for Thailand’s progress in advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Additionally, USTDA representatives expressed readiness to support Thailand’s infrastructure development and presented USTDA’s role in providing infrastructure development assistance to Thai government agencies and state enterprises.

During this meeting, the Deputy Secretary-General and NESDC officials briefed on Thailand’s economic situation, development goals according to the National Strategy and the 13th National Economic and Social Development Plan, and the direction of Thailand’s transportation and innovation infrastructure development.

Both parties acknowledged the commitment and priorities that Thailand and the United States place importance on, and expressed readiness and openness for opportunities to advance cooperation between NESDC and USTDA in the future.
