On March 24, 2025, Mr. Danucha Pichayanan, Secretary-General of NESDC, welcomed H.E. Mr. Mark Gooding OBE, British Ambassador to Thailand, along with NESDC executives and officials, together with representatives from the British Embassy who joined the discussion.
During this occasion, both parties discussed and exchanged views on economic conditions, trade and investment, international economy, structural reforms, and the transition to a green economy. The NESDC Secretary-General presented an overview of Thailand’s economy and key development directions, such as the development of electric vehicle industry, semiconductor industry, and pharmaceutical industry, as well as accelerating Thai workforce skill development to support investment in future industries. Furthermore, the NESDC Secretary-General emphasized Thailand’s readiness to support Long-Term Resident Visas for British experts to support Thailand’s industrial development, promote British investment in Thailand, and encourage knowledge exchange in areas where the United Kingdom has expertise.
On this occasion, the Ambassador expressed willingness to support Thailand’s OECD membership process and showed readiness to work closely with Thailand in all dimensions, particularly in driving cooperation in trade and investment facilitation, transition to green economy and green finance, as well as exchanging knowledge and expertise in various relevant development issues.
Both parties also expressed their commitment to continuously strengthen economic cooperation and development collaboration to achieve mutual economic growth and maintain good relations between Thailand and the United Kingdom.
